Welcome to Year 1! On this page you will find information about what we are learning about in class each week and any other information that we need to share with you. If you have any questions please do come and speak to us!

This week in Year 1:

Newt class have had another good week. Well done Newt Class!

British Library

We had a great trip to the British Library where they took part in a fairy tales workshop. We also took a quick visit to see the Magna Carta.

Notices:

PE days:

Indoor: Monday

Outdoor: Tuesday

Children should come to school wearing their PE uniform. They will stay in their PE uniform for the whole day.

Routines:

The school day starts promptly in class at 8.55 am. Please use the soft start from 8.45 am to ensure your child is on time. If your child is late to school, bring them to the school office to sign them in.
Children in Year 1 are collected from the classroom door at 3.15pm.
Children are provided with a healthy snack each day. If they bring their own snack to school, they must be healthy. No crisps, sweets or chocolate.
Please make sure all belongings are labelled.
Year 1 have a library book-changing slot on a Friday afternoon.

Home Learning

Every Thursday, children will be set home learning. This will be posted on our class hub in the section below. Home learning should be handed in on the following Monday to allow time for it to be checked and returned before new tasks are set.

Please read your child's book with them and record it in their reading records. Return books on Thursday so they can be changed.

English Homework
